The New Van Heusen Evercool® Range Helps Keep The Heat Off Aussie Men

Business apparel company Van Heusen has revealed a new range of Van Heusen Evercool® suits, shirts and underwear which feature performance technology that has been formulated to keep the body cool and dry, a first for the Australian market.

Van Heusen Evercool® is the first range of business apparel to use a range of new fabric technologies including; Coldblack® light reflective technology which enables dark fabrics to reduce heat, Coolmax everyday® technology which is made of a light yarn that rapidly draws moisture away from the body, and Supplex® breathable, moisture wicking stretch fabric - all traditionally used in performance apparel. Van Heusen Evercool® apparel has been designed and tested in Australia, for Australian conditions.

“The Van Heusen Evercool® technology is a first in men's business apparel in Australia and New Zealand,” says Dianne Taylor, Gazal group brand marketing manager. “It's a truly innovative product which harnesses performance qualities found in traditional sportswear into stylish and wearable suiting, city dressing and underwear.”

“We want to reach out to a discerning group of 18 to 34 males and attract them to this innovative new range of apparel. Van Heusen Evercool® cements our positioning as experts and innovators in business apparel.”

“Listening to our customer, the main driver of interest in the Evercool® product development related to men sweating in an obvious and visible manner while at work and the associated socially negative image,” she added.

The Van Heusen Evercool® shirt and suit range will be stocked nationwide at Myer, with selected items also available at retail outlets including David Jones, Themensshop.com.au, Farmers in New Zealand and selected independent menswear stores. Van Heusen Evercool® RRP from $399 - $649 for suits, shirts from $60 and underwear from $19.95 - $22.95.

The launch is supported by a fully integrated marketing campaign including TV, digital, In-flight TV and public relations. The TVC and print stills continue to feature Richard Cilli, a principal dancer for the Sydney Dance Company, as the talent for the campaign and are brought to life by renowned director and photographer, Tim Richardson.

About Van Heusen Evercool® Technology

  • Coldblack® technology, developed in Switzerland, enables dark fabrics to reduce heat and is applied at the fibre stage of production so as to not affect the hand feel of the suit garment. UV and infrared heat is reflected, and as a result, the wearer perspires half as much. This technology lasts for the life of the garment. An Evercool® suit is a stylish and soft to touch garment made from a quality wool blend.
  • Trevira® is the latest development in manmade fibres. Developed to be blended with high quality wools, Trevira® has excellent breathability due to a spacious cross section and fine fibre - finer than wool. Evercool® suits are also very comfortable and anti pill so ultimately last longer.
  • Coolmax everyday® is a light yarn that rapidly draws moisture away from the body, enabling the wearer to remain cool and dry. This technology makes the Evercool® shirt range ideal for humid days and perfect for travelling. An Evercool® shirt is a breathable and soft to touch cotton garment.
  • Supplex® is the performance branded fibre used in the Evercool® underwear range. Made from Invista, the fabric is air jet textured and feels soft like cotton but has durability and high resistance to abrasion. Supplex® is a sports performance stretch fabric. Lycra is the branded elastane yarn from Invista that stretches several times in length with full recovery to give enhanced fit, stretch, comfort and performance.
