The jacket should be as wide but no wider than your shoulders. Shoulder Pads should end with your shoulders. Lean against a wall and if the jacket touches first, before your shoulder its too big. Lapel width should correspond with the tie width.
Slip a flat hand into your suit under the lapels when the top button is fastened. If you put a fist in the button should pull at the button.
Buttons - The top button of a two-button suit or the middle button of a 3 button suit should be fastened. By doing this you emphasise the waist of the jacket appearing taller. Remember always keep your top button done up, the middle sometimes and the bottom never!

The jacket sleeve length should finish at the break of the wrist and allow you to show some sleeve cuff. Between 1 and 2cm of cuff should be visible.

Where the trousers fold when they meet your shoe is called the Break. Traditionally a 2cm break should be visible and the back hem should sit just above the heel of the shoe.

Trouser Length - The hem should be 2cm above the heel of the shoe. With a narrower trouser you can wear your trousers shorter.
